Main action: Stimulates sexual activity. Increases testosterone levels, (saponins affect receptors in the hypothalamus that control sex hormones), diuretic, laxative and antifungal action, lowers cholesterol.
Known as a natural aphrodisiac. Contains a high level of beneficial substances such as saponins and flavonoids. It supports the cardiovascular system, increases libido in men and generally improves sexual health. Helps with blood sugar and cholesterol control. It gives vitality, endurance and strengthens the body’s strength.
Widespread: On sandy, stony places, roadsides and in fields, as a weed. It grows up to 800 meters above sea level. Widespread in Europe, Asia, North and South America.
Content: Steroidal furostanes and spirostanes saponins, diosgenin, gitogenin and chlorogenin, hectogenin, β-sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol, the flavonoids kaempferol, astralagin, tribuloside and rutin, harman alkaloids, vitamin C.
