Main action: Antiperspirant, anti-inflammatory.
The herb is also used for nervous tension, agitation and fatigue. It has a calming effect and improves sleep. The color has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, diaphoretic and diuretic effects. It is used in acute catarrh of the upper respiratory tract, in febrile conditions and colds as a diaphoretic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory agent.
Widespread: The tree grows in shady and moist places in mixed deciduous forests in the foothills and mountains. It is widespread in Central and South-Eastern Europe up to 1500 meters above sea level.
Content: The flower contains 0.04 – 0.1% essential oil with the sesquiterpentine alcohol farnesol, mucous substances, vonoid substances – the glucosides hesperidin, tiliroside, afcelin, quercitin, asparagine. Kaempferitin, aglyconitekaempferol, cyanidin, quercetin. Other phenolic compounds have also been identified, as well as carotenes, ascorbic acid and tocopherol.
Drug used: Color – the inflorescences with bracts (FloresTiliae cum bracteis).
